Hi all! Happy Monday! Coach Stefanie here!
Because Mondays are often viewed as a fresh start- I thought this would be a good time to encourage you! We all know that trying to lose weight is a marathon not a sprint. But sometimes, we hit a plateau and don’t know how to get out of it. Having been in this community for a while, I’ve seen several tips that have worked for a variety of people, so I want to share them with you, today! Based on my experience and my community- I recommend trying these tips with you feel stuck!
If you’re no longer motivated- Try a different plan!
Do you remember the time when you just started? Everything was a discovery on how many BITES certain foods have and how you can mix and match foods to fit into your day. Trying a new plan can help you rediscover the motivation you may have lost. Everything is new again and it keeps your mind busy to figure it all out..and that means less time just mindlessly munching.
If you eat the same thing all the time- Try a meal plan!
We all get into a rut of eating the same foods and meals. They’re safe and comfortable and we know the BITE values. But getting complacent often leads to less vigilant measuring of ingredients which can slow down your weight loss. And our bodies like diverse nutrients so eating the same thing isn’t the healthiest. Instead, try using one of the meal plans in the app and explore new recipes and foods!
If you’re sick of counting- Try a plan that has more zero BITE foods or take a break from counting.
Better balance and the purple adaptation are a great way to count less foods but still keep control if that’s something you struggle with. But if you feel like you’ve developed good habits and can keep those while not tracking, then take a break from counting. To be clear, that does not mean take a break from eating right. It just means letting the good habits you built guide you without stressing over each bite and tracking/weighing.
“I eat within my BITES but am still not losing weight on Better Balance”- Try using a second metric to monitor your zero BITE foods.
Better Balance is amazing and tricky at the same time. It can be great because there are a lot of foods you don’t need to track, but in that we can run into the issue of over or under-eating since these foods are calculated into our allowance in certain quantities. Using secondary metrics like calories and tracking everything (yes that includes 0 BITE foods) may give you an idea of whether you’re overindulging them or not eating enough of the zero BITE foods!
I hope that you found these simple tips, to be helpful to your weight loss journey! Just remember- you didn’t gain the weight overnight, so you won’t lose the weight over night! Stay the course and don’t beat yourself up over small things. We ALL feel stuck sometimes. Just take a deep breath and try some of these tactics!
