Like so many, I downloaded iTrackBites a long time ago and then never actually got started. At the beginning of 2020 I finally got myself together and started actually following the program and logging my food.

How to: Find Accountability with iTrackBites
When I first lost weight several years ago, one of keys to my success was the group of friends and fellow weight losers that I met at my meetings. Going to the meeting helped me stay accountable and keep going when it got tough. However, I have since learned that I got extremely lucky with my situation as I was never able to find another group setting that truly felt comfortable. Here are a few of my favorite things to help me stay connected:
BITES vs Calories: Team BITES
For the last few days, I have been giving Calorie Command a try and it has been really eye opening. Yesterday I spoke to my husband about this experience and he raised the very interesting question of why, exactly, counting BITES is different than counting calories. This brought me to thinking about why we use BITES instead of just calories and I wanted to share this reasoning. Furthermore, why I personally, still think BITES are the way to go!
Lower Calorie Starbucks Copy Cat Recipes
Like most people, I love Starbucks and all their fancy drinks. But, unfortunately, neither my wallet nor my waistline appreciate the drinks I love getting. So, I have started making my own versions at home. That way I can control the ingredients (and therefore BITES) and it costs way less!
Weight Loss Refresh
You may be excited because you finally feel like you have a good routine down. But then the scale stops moving and you wonder: What am I doing wrong? It is easy to get frustrated when you seem to be doing everything right but your weight isn’t moving. I went through this for almost 2 years! Here are a few of my favorite things to try to “spice things up”
Holidays are hard! We all know this. Many of us go overboard during the holidays. It’s how you handle the days after the storm, that is truly important. Coach Jeri wrote a great piece about preparing for the holidays on Monday, linked HERE. But, let’s think about how we value ourselves and our journey AFTER we overeat on a holiday. Here’s my experience with getting off track, and turning it into a new way of staying ON track.
We all know that we need to get our daily fruits and veggies in. But it’s usually easier said than done! Many products have been released with extra vegetables in them or as replacements for something else. But do they taste like the real thing (or at least good)? These items often feature a higher price tag so I decided to put 4 of them to the test for you!
Now that you have a meal plan and your groceries, let’s look a little bit closer into what my day-to-day looks like following my meal plan. I generally start the plan on Sunday or Monday. On the Sunday, I will do my weekly prep. This includes getting fresh stuff ready for the week and also preparing my breakfast.
As many of you know, some groceries won’t be good for 4 weeks so we need to plan accordingly. I utilize my freezer. I am in no way a prep-er! I’m just lazy. So, I have a freezer stocked full of delicious food at any given time.
In order to stay organized and have everything I will need during the month, it is important for me to create a meal plan for those 4 weeks. I want this plan to be flexible enough to accommodate my schedule and needs while also making the day-to-day meals easy. So, I usually try to group items into categories and eat some of the same meals.
When I decided to lose weight and started on this journey, I quickly realized that my biggest pitfall was going to the store (or my husband going to the store). I would always be tempted to pick up additional items in the store and would often purchase products without scanning them. After all, who wants to stand in the store and scan everything?
Instead of saying we will change everything, let’s create some SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timed) goals together! After all, failing to plan is planning to fail as Benjamin Franklin said so well.
Dealing with family around the holidays can be tough for many reasons. But if they’re not on board with your weight loss it can be especially hard to continue on your journey during this time.
Coach Stefanie here! Let’s face it, adding exercise to your already busy schedule can be hard. But one thing we often don’t realize is that the little things add up. I don’t like exercising but I know being active is important for healthy weight loss.
Zero BITE foods are amazing. A huge stressor in any diet is figuring out what and how much you can eat. Often, we end diets because they’re too time consuming or restrictive. Zero BITE foods help avoid these pitfalls, but can create new ones.
